Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The International Conference on Holography and its Applications
1. Ethical Standards
The conference adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and follows internationally recognized ethical and professional standards to ensure the integrity of the scholarly record.
2. Originality and Prior Publication
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited. Duplicate, redundant, or simultaneous submissions are strictly prohibited.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review by independent experts. Decisions are based on academic merit, clarity, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the conference’s scope.
4. Plagiarism Detection
All manuscripts are checked using iThenticate/Turnitin. High similarity, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or content recycling will lead to desk rejection or post-acceptance withdrawal.
5. Data Integrity and Research Misconduct
Any form of misconduct—data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, or unethical research practices—is strictly forbidden. Verified cases may lead to rejection, retraction, or author sanctions in accordance with COPE guidelines.
6. Authorship Criteria
Authorship is limited to individuals who contributed significantly to the research. All authors must approve the final manuscript. Ghost, gift, or honorary authorship is unacceptable. Changes in authorship require written consent from all authors.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts (financial, academic, institutional, or personal). Undisclosed conflicts may lead to rejection or retraction.
8. Human / Animal Ethics Compliance
Submissions involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must include explicit ethics committee approval and evidence of informed consent. Compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) is mandatory.
9. Copyright, Licensing, and Publishing Rights
Papers are published in the Conference Proceedings, and the same version will be published in the Journal of Holography Applications in Physics (JHAP) under the journal’s copyright policy.
10. Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawals
The conference follows COPE Retraction Guidelines. Serious ethical violations may result in retraction. Authors may request withdrawal before publication following official procedures. Corrections will be issued for minor errors.
11. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, perform unbiased evaluations, avoid conflicts of interest, and report suspected ethical issues. They may not use unpublished information for personal advantage.
12. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors ensure fair and timely review, maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and take action in cases of ethical concern. Decisions are based solely on scholarly merit.
13. Generative AI Usage Policy
Responsible use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) is allowed only for language editing or formatting assistance.
The following rules apply:
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
- Any use of AI must be explicitly disclosed in the manuscript.
- AI must not be used for generating data, results, analysis, literature reviews, or citations.
- Authors retain full responsibility for all content.
- Undisclosed or inappropriate AI use constitutes misconduct and may result in rejection or retraction.
14. Anti-Harassment and Professional Conduct
The conference maintains an inclusive and respectful environment. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior is not tolerated in any conference activity (onsite or online).
15. Archiving and Availability of Proceedings
The conference ensures long-term digital preservation of published papers through the publisher’s archiving.
