Dr. Ehsan Nazarzadeh

A comprehensive review article exploring the potential of MXene-polymer composites for water remediation has been published in the prestigious journal Coordination Chemistry Reviews (Impact Factor: 20.6) in 2024. The article, titled "Engineered MXene-Polymer Composites for Water Remediation: Promises, Challenges, and Future Prospects," was co-authored by Dr. Ehsan Nazarzadeh Zare, a faculty member in the Chemistry Department at Damghan University, and Roham Ghanbari, a Master's student in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Tehran.

This review provides an in-depth analysis of recent developments in MXene-polymer composites, detailing their synthesis methods and modification strategies. It systematically examines and categorizes the diverse applications of these composites in water treatment, including:

- Desalination

- Removal of heavy metals

- Dye extraction

- Elimination of pharmaceutical residues

- Removal of hazardous materials

- Separation of natural organic matter

- Oil-water separation

The final section of the article addresses the current challenges and limitations of these materials, offering potential solutions to enhance and broaden the application of MXene-polymer composites in water purification. This significant contribution has the potential to drive the development of innovative technologies for water treatment and environmental conservation.
